Happy New Year!

Whoo dusty rusty blog. The first update of the year 2012!

Haven't been updating the blog because... I realized there are some unintended viewers and there aren't much readers anyway.

But.. Today i have decided to blog because... What i wanted to express is too long for a facebook status. HaHa.

Today is the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year, it was a pretty tiring day, visited a few places and the last one was my Mum's secondary schoolmates house. It was a happy gathering. Laughter rang throughout.

I thought it's pretty amazing for them to meet without fail every Chinese New Year albeit the number of people who showed up had slightly decreased over the years. But still it's quite an amazing feat to me. Guess this practice had been more than 10years old, if not as old as me. It's simply amazing. They are showing what's called 'friends forever'.

Ahhh relationships are such interesting thing.

Lucky much?

So it's like i am on leave now. On a one month and counting leave. And it's paid! Haha. How blessed i am. =)) It's such an awesome company. They don't mind hiring you to go on a long leave first before starting work, and what's more, this is just a temp job. Thank you very much company XXXX! =DD

This job caused me to have something to think about and that's "what should i do today?" Everyday. Been visiting the library pretty often. Love the library at Pasir Ris. There's a corner, with a window facing a big patch of green field, and the sofa is comfy. =)
Reading a book on Warren Buffett quotes. Some of his quotes are really useful and inspiring on life.

Happened to discover a park while on the MRT to Pasir Ris one day. It's the Tampines Eco Green. It's like a little Sungei Bulogh in the middle of a town! COol much eh!

It's fill with birds! I could hear them chirping, but it takes a little luck to spot them. It's a pretty place. It was pretty empty when i went there. I saw fewer than 10 people there, i guess not much people knows about the place, and this is good in a way, as the living things there will be less disturbed.

I think this photo is awesomely taken! =)

It's a really nice place. =) A special thing about the park is, the path is made of carpet grass.

Ok, Just a little update, as i can't sleep. My sleeping time is pretty screwed now. I can't sleep until about 3+am. Ahh gotta change my lifestyle.

Happy day

Felt happy today! =) Because i did things that made me happy, or things that i liked. Went to Amoy Street's hawker centre for lunch. I have been missing the food there, especially from the Good Day stall. Ordered the beef fried rice, and thought it was awesome as usual! Eating tasty food makes me happy. heh.

Walked over to Tanjong Pagar railway station after that to take photos, since it's closing and i haven't been there before. It's smaller than i imagined...

After that thought of going to the railway stop at Clementi, but while taking bus halfway, i passed by Alexandra Arch and decided to stop there, since i have my camera with me, and i haven't visited there before.

It's quite a fruitful trip! Managed to shoot some rare birds and a nice shot of a squirrel. haha.

Alexandra Arch

Walking the Tree top trail

Panda's favourite!

I think it's a sunbird

Nice view on top

Walked to the Henderson waves, took some photos, before travelling down to Clementi.

That's a woodpecker!

It was raining lightly, and i was on board bus 154, which i could take home, so i was thinking should i alight or not, since it's raining. And i decided to alight, in the end.

It was a good choice. I was in luck, a train was stopping there for some unknown reason, and there were passengers aboard! It is as though the train is there waiting for me to take photos of it before leaving. hahah. And the rain stopped too!

Graffiti

Track switches

What a lucky day! It was quite an impromptu trip with little planning, and i didn't check what bus to take to go to the places i wanted after visiting the railway station, so i thought i was quite lucky to be able to reach my destination, without getting lost and it's quite fruitful!

Satisfied~

Intelligence

I was showering, when out of the blue i came up with this "quote": 'The belief that you are smarter than everyone else makes you stupid.'

Coincidentally, after that while reading some tweets, one led me to a blog (of a typical china chinese with screwed up values), which have this quote:
“But beauty, real beauty, ends where an intellectual expression begins. Intellect is in itself a mode of exaggeration, and destroys the harmony of any face.”
- Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

Kinda related to what i have thought... Freaky.

UK Revision Lectures

Just attended the last revision lecture by the UK lecturers. Can see that most of the lecturers are really putting in effort to teach us and mark the scripts. I thought they would be like just coming here to show face, and the lectures would be substandard.

But no i was wrong, i thought some of the lecturers are even better that the local ones. In fact, all but one of them are better! For the programming revision, the UK lecturer is way much better than the local one, because the local one sucks to the core. hahah. And can see she really put in effort to mark the exam scripts, judging by the long comments given. =)

The sociology revisions' UK lecturers are good as well. Steve's lecture is pretty entertaining and the other lecturer is actually the Director of LSE International Programme, Rosemary Goseling. You can see her photo when you logged into the VLE. haha. I find that her lecture is actually quite boring. =p Or maybe it's because the subject itself is dry. Oh well... Her status makes up for it though. She claims that she had dinner with the Queen of British before!

The Intro to IS UK lecturer is good because i can see she really wants to help us to do well for the exam.

The worst UK lecturer IMHO, is the IBM lecturer! Her lessons were the most boring. And sometimes her body language suggested that she herself is bored of teaching, her voice sometimes trailing off as though she's sleep talking and she's always checking on the time, as if suggesting, "oh gosh the time passes so slowly".

The best UK lecturer got to be James Abdey! He whose lecture i have attended just now. It's on stats. The lesson was really lively because he's sort of like "self-high". HAHA. For the whole of the lecture, which lasted for 5hours, not including the 1 hour break in between, there was never a dull moment! I was able to concentrate on the whole of the lecture. He cracks jokes so funny that i think he could make a living as a comedian. He made me laughed very hard during the session, which i really haven't done so for quite some time already. His jokes were timely as i was feeling quite down recently.

I thought it was quite sad that we didn't give him a big round of applause at the end of the lecture so i sent him an email, to thank him personally. haha! Hope he sees it.

All these revision lectures make me feel that the school fees are money well spent. =)

Happy Birthday to me!

Had a simple birthday celebration this year. Actually it had always been simple, until my 21st, my friends starts to celebrate with me. This year was special though, celebrated with another friend who have the same birthday as me. They treated me dinner at Kallang Airport and also bought 2 pieces of cake. They also gift me a pen. Pretty touched. haha. What thoughtful friends i have.

And when i reached home, realised my parents bought me a cake too... A pretty awesome looking one... I like the design. heh.

And today, 10march, another friend treated me lunch at a jap restaurant. He bought me a gift too!

I didn't expect it. I thought we are just meeting up for lunch, didn't expect him to treat, and even bought me a gift!

Feels quite blessed to have such good friends. =)

Prelims

This blog is getting really rusty huh. I just realise this is only the 3rd and it's also the last post of this month. I think it's the least posts for the month this blog ever had!

Just had my first major exam after like yearssss... The sort of exam which require you to write a freaking whole lots of words. I was feeling so nervous! My hands were icy cold even when i was at home. Keep feeling like shitting too. lols.

Left my house at around 5pm, although the paper only starts at 7pm. i was thinking of having dinner in school, but the foodcourt was pretty pack, and it was already 6:30pm when i reached, i thought it would be pretty rush so i just bought a bao to eat.

The exam was conducted at the SIM Grand Hall. There were like 3 papers on going at the same time, same place, and i think i spotted my secondary school classmate. How coincidental. The paper duration is 3hours. And after the first hour, i see people start to leave the exam hall already. WTF man. So damn fast?! SO i thought the remaining 2hours would be more than enough.

I took my own sweet time to do the paper, and who knows, i couldn't complete it in time. AHhhhhhhhhhH. 30marks gone! Shit man. Bad bad time management. Spent too much time writing for 4 marks questions already. And the remaining 20marks questions i ignored it. How stupid i can be?! Luckily it's only prelims man~ It's a lesson learnt. I will be really happy if i could get 50marks. LoL.

Paper ended at 10pm, went to eat before coming home. It was already 1130pm when i reached home. And i just realised it's my first time in my life taking an exam at night. lol. Not much difference from taking in the day.

Tomorrow will be stats~~ And i haven't revise one bit. But i think it should be easy. =p
